Doctrine of Discovery

Medieval papal bulls empowered colonizers to "‘invade, capture, subdue, and vanquish"

We amplify and engage with Indigenous wisdom to reorient society back toward nature and shape a more eco-centric world.

The vast majority of world’s remaining biodiversity rests in the hands of Indigenous peoples, yet their lifeways are under constant assault and threat. CEE supports wisdom keepers from Indigenous traditions, promotes Indigenous rights to self-determination, and engages Indigenous peoples’ participation in economic development decisions.

Only local, national and international action will create a truly ecological society, with thriving communities and planetary health.
