Xiao Ma (any/all pronouns) is a research intern at Center for Earth Ethics. Originally from Suzhou, China, they have spent much of their life between Louisiana and Vermont, and now reside in New York City. They are a second-year Master of Divinity student at Union Theological Seminary, concentrating on worship, preaching and the arts. 

Xiao graduated from Bennington College with a degree in visual arts and poetry. As an experimental photographer, Xiao’s work explores the evolving relationship between humans and the natural world.

Outside of studies and artistic practice, Xiao finds joy in backpacking, plunging into rivers and lakes, swimming, long drives and long hikes.
