Paul Gallay
Strategic Advisor
Paul Gallay is a strategic advisor at Center for Earth Ethics and a member of CEE’s advisory board. He directs Columbia Climate School’s Resilient Coastal Communities Project in partnership with the New York City Environmental Justice Alliance. RCCP works to establish actionable, equitable solutions to flood risks and complementary benefits like habitat restoration, job creation and more empowered communities. He has served as a lecturer in the Climate School’s undergraduate program in sustainable development since 2018.
Prior to joining Columbia full-time and establishing the RCCP, Paul served in legal and policy leadership positions with the New York State Attorney General and Department of Environmental Conservation, Riverkeeper and other conservation organizations in New York and Maine.
Paul is a 1981 graduate of Williams College, where he served as visiting professor of environmental law from 2004 to 2008. He graduated from Columbia Law School in 1984.
