EVENT CANCELLED. WE WILL POST NEW DATE WHEN INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE

Shaun A. Case was the founding director of the United States Department of State’s Office of Religion and Global Affairs under Secretary of State John Kerry, and in his lively new book about his time working there he makes a compelling case for integrating the “faith factor” into the American practice of global diplomacy. The issue has never been more important, the stakes never higher.

Chasing the Devil at Foggy Bottom is both a memoir of life inside the Beltway and a call to think more broadly about faith’s role in world affairs and how the United States can play a more effective role for peace and justice.

After a brief presentation of his book, Casey will be joined in a discussion about these issues by two leaders with long and broad experience in world affairs:

Ruth Messinger, Global Ambassador for the American Jewish World Service and former Manhattan Borough president

Daniel Kurtzer, former U.S. ambassador to Israel and to Egypt and current professor of Middle East Policy Studies at Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs

Karenna Gore, executive director of the Center for Earth Ethics at Union Theological Seminary, will lead the conversation and field questions from the audience for our speakers
