CEE in Ethiopia for Global Ethical Stocktake Africa Dialogue

CEE Founder and Executive Director Karenna Gore and Intern for Communications and Events Taylar Enlow travel to Addis Ababa for the Africa Dialogue of the Global Ethical Stocktake, with Gore participating in the Dialogue as an observer. The Dialogue, held alongside UN Climate Week in Africa, will convene at the Creative HUB Ethiopia on September 5. Co-led by Wanjira Mathai of the World Resources Institute, the Africa Dialogue is one of six regional dialogues informing the GES process ahead of COP30 in Brazil this November.

“This goes deeper than politics,” said Gore in a recent interview on the GES process. “It’s about the future of our species, and also about the interconnected web of life, with all the living beings with whom we share this world. It’s something we need to reflect on in terms of our deepest values and our conscience.”

Brazil’s Environment Minister Marina Silva, Wanjira Mathai, COP30 President André Corrêa do Lago, and COP30 CEO Ana Toni will present the outcomes of the Africa Dialogue at a press conference on September 5 at 2:00 p.m. local time.
