Conference | Climate Constitutionalism
March 29, 2024 @ 9:00 am – 7:00 pm UTC-8
The impacts of climate change will increasingly strain our democratic processes and institutions even as we rely on those processes and institutions to produce the rapid changes necessary for transformational mitigation and just adaptation. Federal and state constitutions must meet this moment if we are to emerge with a healthy climate and a functioning democracy. This free, one-day conference will convene scholars, judges and practitioners to build on the themes explored in “Democracy in a Hotter Time” (MIT Press, 2023).
CEE Executive Director Karenna Gore will participate in a moderated keynote discussion at the end of the conference.
