Faith for Earth Dialogue, Feb 21 – Mar 4

The resumed fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly will take place online and in Nairobi from February 28 to March 2, 2022. UNEA-5 brings together representatives of the 193 UN Member States, businesses, civil society and other stakeholders to agree on policies to address the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

To amplify the voices of faith-based organizations at UNEA-5, UNEP’s Faith for Earth Initiative has organized the Faith for Earth Dialogue, a set of more than 25 online panels and conversations from February 21 to March 4.

  • Faith for Earth: A Call for Action. Monday, February 21, 9:30 a.m. CEE Advisory Board member Kusumita Pedersen is a panelist.
  • Working Group on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Restoration. Wednesday, February 23, 8 a.m. Andrew Schwartz, director of sustainability and global affairs, and Gopal Patel, a senior advisor, are panelists.
  • Faith, Values & Ethics in Environmental Governance. Friday, February 25, 9:30 a.m. Kusumita Pedersen and Mona Polacca, a senior fellow, are panelists.

  • Faiths Respond to Stockholm+50 & UNEP@50. Friday, March 4, 8 a.m. Gopal Patel is a panelist. Karenna Gore, CEE’s founder and executive director, will moderate the session.
