Emilie Unterweger

Field Education Student

Emilie Unterweger is a second year Master of Divinity student at Union Theological Seminary and is completing her MDiv field education at the Center for Earth Ethics. She has had a long time passion for care and advocacy work, volunteering as a peer mentor while studying accounting at Borough Manhattan Community College. She has a BA in Creative Writing from Columbia University where she volunteered as a peer advocate and peer educator at the Sexual Violence Response Office.

Emilie is an ordained interspiritual minister affiliated with One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, where she served as board treasurer. Her ministry is focused on healing and her love of the natural world. She is a certified holy fire and shamanic reiki master practitioner, talking circle leader, and has led workshops and gatherings on a variety of spiritual topics. Emilie is guided in her work by a desire to help humans remember their relationship with the Earth.

Emilie completed her clinical pastoral education (CPE) residency at Bellevue Hospital and is grateful to serve as a spiritual care provider at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Mount Sinai Hospital.
