DESCRIPTION:In this time of ecological and social distress\, time in nature is critical to our understanding of how to restore harmony between human beings and our natural environment.  Medicinal plant walks and guided workshops given by the Center for Earth Ethics staff\, aim to support human beings in discovering and reviving our spiritual connection to the Earth. Please inquire if you would like to request a workshop or medicinal plant walk for your community or congregation. \n*** \n\nPast Offerings: \n\nJoin us for a walk in Inwood park to connect with and learn from some of our plant relations. Poppy Jones of the Center for Earth Ethics will lead us in meeting and respectfully harvesting plants for creating medicine to honor and nourish our bodies and the earth. \nFriday 10/13 – 9:00 am-12:30pm Saturday 10/14 – 9:00 am -12:30 pm \nLeaving Union – Hastings lobby – 9:00 am to travel together by subway to Inwood Park. \nFree and open to all – Union students\, community members\, friends and family. The Global South Summit at the United Nations Church Center in New York\, will serve in part as a precursor to the Creating a Climate for Change Conference on October 26th\, 2017 in Florence\, SC.  A reception for Global South Summit participants is scheduled to follow at Union Theological Seminary.

SUMMARY:Unity Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Unity Concert is a gathering of members of the Pte Oyate (the Great Sioux Nation)\, artists\, performers and friends – both old and new – who are committed to educating and raising support for the Black Hills Initiative. Its organizers and participants ask the United States of America to honor its word – to honor the treaties – and recognize the valuable stewardship of Sacred Sites by native peoples. This year marks the 4th Annual Unity Concert completing a cycle of honoring the sacred 4 directions. There’s still time to make your plans to come on out. CEE is proud to participate with several team members in attendance offering support to both the prayers\, and actions that will extend from this event. We encourage others to get involved in making relations\, learning about the land and celebrating a new time of UNITY among all people.
